Master The Little Things That Make The Biggest Differences
The modern game requires every player on the ice, no matter the position, to be as skilled as possible, starting with skating. Defenseman like Cale Makar, Adam Fox, Quinn Hughes, etc are changing the way we look at defenseman.
One of the main reasons why this camp is so enjoyable is the fact that we bring exceptionally high energy with modern & unique drills with an abundance of repetitions at a pace you won’t find anywhere else.
Whether you’re a goalie, center, winger or defenseman, skating will always be the biggest differentiator between the great players and good players. The first hour of each skate will be dedicated to defense-specific skating such as backwards edge work, Transitions & footwork, backwards quick starts & acceleration and so much more! You WILL notice a difference.
Speaking of skating, a player’s confidence is directly correlated to their skating ability. Once the skating becomes a focal point, other position-specific patterns and skills will become important in execution. During the season, especially for defensemen, there is just not enough time to reel in the little things that make the biggest differences.
The defense position comes with great responsibility. Devoting the time to perform the finer details of defense-specific patterns and movements will lead to more consistent decision-making skills creating a more reliable product. Skating = Confidence = Executing the little details without hesitation.
