Where spring hockey no longer feels like spring hockey
April 1st – May 22nd @ Foothills Ice Arena – Each division receives 22 hours of high quality, energy-filled ice plus guaranteed scrimmages/additional skills sessions.
The purpose of the Hitmen is simply to make sure spring hockey no longer feels like spring hockey. The Hitmen is not only the name of our teams, but it is also Denver’s newest and best experience you’ll find for premier hockey development. We targeted a more centralized location to increase the participation of players from all associations. Plus, the old barn gives this program some pretty unique (and cold!) character which only adds to the wholesome hockey experience. We can guarantee you the value you’ll receive is like nothing you’ve experienced in spring thus far. So…are you ready?
High Level A through AAA, however, The Hitmen is open to anyone wanting to experience the tryouts. There will be one team per division and an additional skills program will be available for any player that does not make a team.
Maximizing 8U development one skate at a time. Our 8U’s will get three hours per week. The first hour of each week will always be setting each player’s foundation the right way with the highest quality skating paired with the highest quality coaching and instruction. We have mastered the ability to make skating fun. Don’t believe us? Give us a shot. We won’t let you down. Our energy and passion for teaching extremely high-paced sessions is completely in a league of its own. The second hour of the week will entail some skill work with small area games elevating the compete levels in our athletes. Our last hour of the week will be a combination of some more intense edge work and overall skill work. This is where it all starts. Give your player’s the foundation NOW.
Each participant will receive 5 tryout sessions. There are several benefits to this…Not only do we want a fair, thorough, and effective tryout process, we want to actually get to know your skater. Your skater will go through position-specific tryouts along with high intensity skills sessions & scrimmages. We also realize families go on vacation at the end of the season. This ensures you’ll make a few of these sessions!
We will be ordering the best reversible fabrics around. Look good, feel good, play good…right?! Not going to lie, our white camo and black camo jerseys are going to make a serious statement!
We are committed to the CCM Chi-Town Shuffle (AA/AAA, April 19th-21st)
We are also heavily considering the Mile High Meltdown right here in Denver (April 11th-14th)
Some great hang out spots less than one mile from the rink includes’ Piggin’ Out Smokehouse’ and ‘Green Mountain Beer Company’. Let’s connect and get to know each other after some practices there!
Scrimmage/Additional skills ice will be added on Sunday evenings. These will include controlled internal scrimmages to focus on positioning, flat out internal scrimmages, and/or scrimmages with other programs. We can also combine teams to run pure skills such as powerskating, shooting, puck handling, etc.
I will be bringing in my own certified trainers to run optional off-ice training once or twice each week. This is completely free and completely optional. Since kids do multiple sports in the spring, it is overkill to add additional intense training to their schedules. So, if you want to participate, great! If not, great! The off-ice training is right there at the rink.
Each player (2015-2011) will receive a report card in the beginning of spring and at the conclusion of spring. This will include notes in both skills and overall hockey knowledge.
included for all rostered players, practice players AND parents once per week.
