Melee In The Mountains 2020
June 12-14 – Dobson Ice Arena
The target dates have been selected for this years fun, Summer hockey showdown! The dates will be June 13th (Saturday) and 14th (Sunday), however families are encouraged to ride up on the 12th(Friday). If those dates happen to change for any reason, you will be notified immediately.
Formerly known as “Blitzkrieg In Breck,” I have chosen to host this tournament in Vail again this year. The convenience of the rink location and the amazing village are just a few reasons why….plus the rink sells beer!!
For anyone who is traveling up on Friday night, I will be hosting a kick-off party at the rink so we can all hang out and have some fun – During this time, I will also be renting an hour of ice for anyone looking to have some fun. This will be a public skate – No sticks or pucks! The time of this skate will be passed along once you are registered.
If you have not yet participated in this fun event, the whole idea of this trip is to enjoy time away in the mountains with a little hockey on the side! The environment has a very relaxed feel with a huge focus on fun and hanging with other crazy hockey families.
Kids will get four games each – Two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday. The periods will be two 15 minute stop-time and then depending on the time, the third period will have to be adjusted to stay on curfew. Score will be kept, music will be played during stops and there will be a referee.
Of course the players aren’t the only ones who get all the fun….On Saturday, I will also be hosting an adult scrimmage! This will be a game for any of the parents (mom’s and dad’s) who would like to participate in the Parent’s Showdown!
Appropriate levels for this tournament will be the following:
- U8 (All levels – Gameplay will be different than the other levels)
The cost will be $150 per player. Each skater will receive a reversible Hull Hockey Camp jersey to use in the games.
I am already looking forward to a great, fun-filled hockey weekend in beautiful Vail, Colorado!
