Figure Skating For Hockey Players is also something I incorporated last year and will continue to offer. It’s always good for hockey players to learn and gain the respect of a different style which leads to the same end goal. Figure skating is so technical and precise, hockey players can add the favorable and distinctive edgework to their arsenal creating better overall skaters. Here, in my opinion, outside edges are the name of the game, and is quite frankly the one thing hockey players severely lack. Led by Hull Hockey instructor Lindsay Mariage, players are sure to have some fun while staying engaged.

Lindsay Mariage Skating Bio

My Name is Lindsay Mariage and I am excited to share my skating and coaching expertise. With over 30 years of skating experience 18 years of coaching, my passion is not only teaching skating and conditioning for figure skating and hockey, but also to share my love being on the ice, as well as the life lessons skating in every discipline has to offer.

Born a Colorado native, I started skating when I was 5 years old, at the Old North Jeffco. My family moved to Bay Village, Ohio when I was 7 years old. There, I joined a synchronized skating team and made it to Nationals twice before graduating high school.

I attended Western Michigan University and skated senior, collegiate and later, adult. I had the honor of representing and medaling twice for Team USA while on senior, Skating in Nottingham, Great Britain and Zagreb, Croatia. On collegiate, I was part of a 3 time silver medalist and a National Championship team, where I also served as a team captain.

All 3 of my sisters skated for Miami of Ohio Synchronized Skating Teams. We have all represented Team USA and won 11 National Championships between all of our years skating in college.

While at WMU, I started my coaching career, including conditioning for a summer hockey camp for 5 years with my old coach in Ohio. My senior year, I was tasked with programming and implementing a program for off ice conditioning for WMU skating. That same year, I was sought out by a high school hockey coach and programmed and implemented the power skating for Portage Northern High School until I left Kalamazoo to move back to Colorado.

I have been here now for a little over 10 years, coaching figure skating and specializing in power skating for hockey. I work with all age groups and levels, focusing on basics of skating, edge work, Efficiency and speed. I truly believe that skating must come first for hockey players looking to be successful and maintain longevity in this sport. Kyle and I share this principle and our coaching styles reflect our commitment to making the skaters we work with their absolute best, on and off the ice.

I am excited about the opportunity to work with Kyle and Hull Hockey, bringing a level of skating to this area that has rarely been seen. I think the culture and commitment that Hull Hockey has already instilled, along with the creativity and influence that I have been able to promote on my own will make us a great match in establishing an innovative and successful path for hockey.
